The downtime over the weekend was for our migration to a powerful new server architecture hosted by Engine Yard. These guys provide a platform that makes others drool. Their technology stack is probably the best I’ve seen. For you that means true reliability and redundancy. For us it means smooth long-term scalability.
I know what you’re thinking. These guys are a Rails host! Well, here’s the story. Somehow, Ezra Zygmuntowicz found his way into our beta and really liked it, so he started using it for some of his projects. His involvement at Engine Yard got me a meeting with them where they asked me if they could give DevjaVu to their customers in exchange for a hosting deal. Since I had heard of these guys and really liked what they were trying to do, it sounded worth a shot. So they made an exception for a non-Rails app and gave me a custom environment to get DevjaVu running on their cluster.
These guys are awesome. Not only is their technology awesome, but they’re great people and provide great service. I’m really happy to be working with them. I hope you guys also enjoy the benefits of DevjaVu’s new host, and if you have a Rails app you should definitely check them out!
